If you are visiting a country other than the one you were born in, the chances are that country has, like this one does, some sort of barriers to participation in society. The International Drivers License is, by United Nations agreements, accepted in the whole world as a photo ID. It indicates that you are a holder of a valid drivers license from your home country, fulfilling the right for a person to drive in another country when accompanied by an original and valid driver’s license.

Once you have that International Drivers license you don’t have to worry about being pulled over and arrested for not having a valid license plus you can use it for things like applying for car insurance.
